Not sure why I did this ......
I am not really big on sorting cent coins at my age.

But a old lady came into a local coin shop. They bought
her silver coins from her .. but did not want the Lincolns.

One of the workers had put the coins through a coin counter,
to separate the dimes and quarters.

They knew there are a little over 10,000 coins. I offered her
$100 ... so she would not have to carry them back to the car
and into the bank.

I can see there are some wheat's mixed into them ..

I hope enough to make it worth while. ...

Good luck. It will be interesting to see the stats on what you find.

Just sat down with a cup of coffee ..

Hoping for a bunch of wheats to make it worth while...

I am thinking they are all copper ... newest one I have found so far is 1973.

And at least one or two wheats in every handful

Stop right now! Look no further!

Sell them as unsearched.

Just kidding. Way more fun to look thought them yourself. I wish you good luck!

Looks like a nice way to kill time. I'd do one or two roll every night under a microscope connected to a large monitor, save yourself the headache.

Maybe a few more roll if you find something nice...

Made it through the first pass of the first bag last night.

451 wheat cents ... was hoping for more than that.

Setting the 1960 hoping for some small dates.
I have been putting rolls of 1960's away .. not sure
if it will ever be worth anything.

No 1972 DDO or 1970 S small dates yet ..

The newest coin so far is 1973.
Rest in Peace

GR58, sounds like an honest-to-goodness unsearched bunch that's been out of circulation for MANY years. You may be missing my favorites...RPM,DDO / DDR's! I've found that LWC's in late 50's (53-58) bring in many D/D RPM, and quite often a BIE among the 53-55 years(all mints). The LMC's of 59-64 pull in the D's RPM really well. Don't forget the 69S DDO!

I'd be in copper heaven with that batch! Once "bought" a 5000 count bag of copper LMC's hoping for something of note, got noting more than what could have been pulled from any(many) bank boxes for twice the cost! Consider yourself very fortunate! Does sound like pulls from circulation, but...just pulled a 1911D last night, so some good 'uns are still in there 40 years later!

You could always finish pulling all the wheats out, then send to me before you look closely at them...

Not sure if that was fun or not ... pulled the wheats from the last bag ..535

Total of 1513 wheats. Not even sure if I will look through them for better dates.

I also pulled nicer looking memorials ... 16 tubes/rolls.

I will dump about $75 of what I didn't pull to the bank, the rest will be a
good addition to my pile.

Crazyb0 .... just read your post ..

The story the lady gave was her husband pulled these coins from circulation
in the 60's and 70's. She also had about $100 face in silver coins, the
coin shop bought them.

I was not looking for as many as you listed. I did pull the 1960 and 1972
coins, to check for small dates and DDO's. There are a lot of D mint coins,
I did see one 1969 S ... but was not a DDO.

When I saw the lady was going to stop at the bank next, I just had to buy them from her ... to see what was there.
