Hey group, Pennsylvania USA here. Just came across a 1776 continental currency coin. I'm aware the odds of it being real are slim, but was wondering if anyone could take a look and give me some input.

EWWW! Don't hold a coin like that - the oils from your fingers will get on the coin and eventually cause surface problems (the coins, not your fingers). If need be hold the coin by its edges (rims).

hang loose, somebody will be along that knows all about your coin in question. It is a Fugio Cent I believe.
Real or not, I cannot say.

I made your picture bigger.

Well, if it's real, it'll be the 4th or 5th one known to exist (3 are proven to exist, and there are rumors of a 4th), and you'll be able to retire. It's the 'American Congress' variety. I do agree with Mark1959 about holding coins that way, but in this case, the reduced value will be minimal.

Where did you come across this?

Although the OP's piece looks like a cast copy, Fugio Cents are quite common. An estimated 400,000 were produced and many still exist, mostly in lower grades.

That's OK, this isn't a coin, it's a fake (without a doubt). And it is not a Fugio copy.

It is a reproduction of a Continental Currency dollar, not a Fugio cent.
