I would think my contest prizes would go up a few notches whenever I ran a contest here on CCF.

I still think I would have a manageable fleet of Tuna and Marlin sport fishing boats and two yachts to keep an eye on my Captains at work out of Lahaina Maui and another in Cape Hatteras.

( I have fished both places )

I would. And I'd travel all over to buy them. And, maybe hire a professional grader to go with me, preferably a pretty one!

RE: jack Whittaker

A very sad tale. It is proof that money does not bring happiness. Since he was already rich, why did he buy the ticket?

For the sake of my happiness, it is best I do not buy lottery tickets.

Oh yea. I may go overboard, but with that kind of money I'd just buy my coins a house.

Yeah, I'd still collect coins. But I'd still be searching the junk bins because I think it's fun.

And, like TheNickelGuy, I'd have lots of contests and give really good prizes.

And, like january1may, I'd support my local coin shop and any other brick and mortar store I visited -- to buy prizes.

There are a couple of coins that I doubt I will ever be able to afford that I would buy, but after that ... I would just do what I've been doing.
Rest in Peace

First thing I would do was slurp up every Classic Silver Commemorative in highest and next highest grades for about two years. ebay, Heritage, Great Collections, Stacks, and anyone else selling such material. Then the prices would be where they should be and I could say - "AH HA! Told you they should be higher!"

Yes.

.....but I would do this in a different method.

Start my own B & M coin shop.

Before you go sideways, I did not say that the B & M would ever be open, but I would have a business license, etc, etc, etc, and ETC.....and buy to my little heart's content!!
Rest in Peace

I would build a large room on my house. Burglar proof, temperature and humidity controlled ,the works . Then I would buy EVERY raw and slabbed Lincoln Wheat cent in MS-67RD or better and store them in that room along with the rest of my coins . While I'm at it ,I might as well up grade my SLQ set 1916- 1930 P,D,S to MS-66 Full Head & shield .

I don't think I would still collect coins. If I had hundreds of millions of dollars, I am not sure I would enjoy it anymore.

It is fun to hunt down coins just on the edge of what I can afford, looking for the best deals and buying them one at a time.

Example: When I was young I would go through my pocket change to put together a set of 1959-present Lincoln cents. Now I would never find any joy in that. Now I would just buy the set for $15.

Today, I hunt down deals and collect my favorite series one at a time. Great fun. For example, if I had hundreds of million dollars I could, in one week, buy every Libertad BU, Proof and Gold from every year and just be done with the crap. And since I don't have self control I probably would do it in one week.

If there is no thrill of the hunt, no anticipation, then what is the point? For me nothing.

I don't particularly care for owning coins. Seriously.

I just like collecting them. Once they are collected I am not very enthusiastic about them at all. I usually get rid of them. So anything I can outright buy without effort has no joy to me.

I don't want to own every Libertad ever made. I only want to pursue every Libertad ever made.

So, if I won the Powerball, I believe it would be the end of coin collecting for me.

I would create the best collection of Morgan dollars ever. I would love collecting more than ever. Oh yeah, and I would set up a table in Philly next year at the ANA Worlds Fair with $700 M worth of Morgans on it.

Mark1959, that's right little buddy
I'd keep an eye on all of them!
You saw what The Skipper did in episode 6 season 2 when Thurston Howell III wasn't watching and he was a millionaire!

Jbuck has said it right.
Of course, I would have enough to search for museum quality coins,
BUT
I would STILL search through dealers' junk boxes, still searching for best value for money cherry picks. I have done that for most of my numismatic life, and that is where I have always had a lot of fun.
Why should I change?
