I pulled this one out to list for sale this evening. I had set it aside for the "Cracked Skull" but, upon further examination, I found a few more things. None of them are major but, make a nice mix.

Obverse:

-"Cracked Skull" (not listed as an RIDB but, on its way)
-Die Break on LIBERTY (BIE)
-Slight mis-aligned die (MAD)

Reverse:

-Lamination errors
-PIDT or "ghosting"

I'm pretty sure the BIE is this one (compared to cuds-on-coins pics by JC Stevens [top]):

Interesting point is that the deterioration is so very similar, including the cracks and die break but the DIE STATE is closebut is a little further into the run than JC's example...your's may be polish/filled?, just how many coins were between these two? I noticed the wrapping of the L & skinny I in Liberty, similar but notice the widening caused by deterioration!

Best of luck on the sale. With all those errors, no wonder Lincoln has a splitting headache.

That's what is so interesting about these repeatable errors (or varieties, whatever you like ). One can see the progression of die cracks and breaks across multiple examples and compare die state and deterioration.

Most interesting to me is that the CoC example shows the same sign of a MAD as mine on the rim to the left of LIBERTY. There were over a billion of this date/mm minted and to find something listed that is so similar to mine and may have been struck a relative handful of coins apart in time with the exact same die is very cool to think about.

I wonder if the other coin has any lamination errors.

MM looks a little funny. Maybe get a closer shot of that?
(Could very well just be the lighting. )

Cool coin.
I have a few wheaties and other coins with multiple errors. They're fun to look at and I'm not interested in selling them. I know a coin is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Just out of curiosity, about what would this coin be worth?

That will certainly give you a nice pack of key words to list in your heading. Let us know the results. Also - nice photos!

I'll take a closer look at the mintmark. That's always the most difficult thing for me to see and capture.

I'm listing some as auctions with a $0.99 starting bid and trying others as a Buy It Now w/ Best Offer to see what works best.

I'm not sure if it's an RPM or not but I took some new pics if someone wants to investigate. I think I might see something that looks like a CCW rotated RPM but, I'm not convinced.

It is a VERY minor RPM as close as I can tell. A split lower serif is the proof of that, just no direct matches ANYWHERE! Closest I can figure is your coin is VLDS most likely with the die break. This example is only one that comes close but is an EDS. It is possible for the upper portion to lose it's serif, filling, wear etc. also, throw in die flow and stretching which the date shows.

Thanks, Crazyb0!

I'll try to see if there are matching polishing lines on mine compared to the 1MM-013. Other than that, it looks promising. That would be pretty cool to add RPM to the list of afflictions on this poor coin.

The locations maybe close, but the locations on the split serifs are not even close to being alike. So I feel these two are from different dies. They are both RPMs, just not from the same die. The OP's RPM is probably a minor one that is not listed.
