Typically, the name of the person it is awarded to is engraved on the bottom space on the reverse. SO I would conclude this one may have been unawarded. That is a great piece of history! I got this sterling silver 1971 "Little Miss Sure Shot" - Annie Oakley medal today. A little bigger than a silver dollar. This image is grayscale as I just had a tough time getting pictures. Not the greatest condition but I won't see this one again anytime soon. Maybe never? I am starting to lose count on how many Annie Oakley medals I have accumulated. This is a vulcanized rubber token handed out by the Los Angeles Rubber Group. TLARGI is a manufacturers organization founded in the 1920s and organized to promote the training and advancement of rubber industry workers. It is still active and meets regularly. This token was likely a piece of memorabilia distributed at the 1953 assembly. Although some web sources say that these were made in multiple years, this is the only year that I've found available. There were several colors including red, green and ochre (represented here.) I can find little else regarding this token, so I'd appreciate any other info provided. Thanks, Spru! When you hear people tell actual accounts of her shooting, it was said she could not miss. The more I dig and read, the more it seems the accounts are not exaggeration. I see where on youtube you can see modern sharp shooters trying to duplicate the tricks Annie was noted for. The modern trick shooters are thrilled after taking quite a few shots that they can finally duplicate the trick (which is impressive). But the more amazing part is that Annie was noted for those tricks and became famous for them because she didn't need to take a number of shots to finally accomplish the feat. Also, I noticed what looked like common silver tarnish on the edges (especially common for silver plate). On some high points, I saw what I thought was a little copper poking through.
