I know the topic of toning can bring out some strong opinions. Well, bring it on. I picked up a few toned ASEs today, and this is one of them.
What do you all say? Like it? Don't like it? AT? NT?
I paid spot+$2 for them.

Well, bring it on.

Not a problem if you like it. Collect if you want. I always wanted to put together a Dansco with AT ASE's just for the heck of it!

Actually that one I wouldn't want - I want them darn DayGlow toners that there is NO way they could even be close to being natural - got any?

Market acceptable , even with the pix. I too have a bunch of various toned Eagles .
Awesome coin for 2 bucks over Spot!
Some new pix in more natural light would really show this off!

Well, for $2 over spot, it's a good buy.

If you like it, then it's great buy.

I think this one might be AT and it is not for me.

Probably AT, but I love the look, especially at that price!

Can anyone explain why this gets an overwhelming AT from most members? What's the give-away?

Hmmmmm...it doesn't scream either to me BUT if I HA to make a choice I would go with AT. The toning is basically only around the edges and does not extend into the center on either side. Hard to explain where the coin could be stored to achieve that state.

Kinda eliminates a flat surface (one full side would be toned and not the other), an envelope (both sides probably tone completely), or in an album (maybe an album but I still think the center would show some similar colors)

If you don't like it, dip it and all will be fine since it's just a bullion product

Here's one with REALLY crappy toning BUT see how it's completely crappy on one side and only the edges on the other. Makes sense...stored obverse up

I am not a toning expert. I was looking for pull-away.

I like BigSilvers ASE, nicely and evenly toned and all of the strike is visible. The one in the link is just plain nasty but would have no problem adding it to the stack.

I like the look of this one....

I have seen ASE's have a similar look .. that were stored in those
cheap snap together plastic and cardboard holders.
