It's not off-center; it's a misaligned die. The reverse is fine, the obverse is off a bit.

Usually for that to be worth anything, some of the devices need to be missing -- that is, it would have to be a lot more misaligned than it is.

Keep it if you like it. I see them for sale from time to time, but they are easy enough to find. I think the one you have is a very good example --just not a valuable error.

Even though the devices don't fall over the edge, the devices on the reverse are weaker. So I would say yes. If the reverse hadn't been weaker, then I would have said no. Mad coin and collectable.

A good example and the price is right.

How far off till a coin is worth something?
Is there a downloadable gauge or something?

This example is interesting because the reverse lettering was affected (weakened) because of the metal taken up by the wider than normal rim in that area on the obverse. For that reason, I agree with @coop that it is worth more than face value.

Beyond that, devices (letters, design elements) would have to be missing/cut off because of a significant misalignment to add value to the coin. For example, if the coin above had a die misaligned in the opposite direction, having the tops of the first letters in LIBERTY cut off (falling over the edge) would add value. If they are intact, then no value.

The general weakness of the rim shows me it was not struck dead on.

It seems to me that error coin prices are all over the place. You should just keep an eye out for similar sold items on ebay. Also, condition/grade will affect the price.

Check out the web sites of error coin dealers to see some real goodies.
