2015 P Roosevelt Dime DDO?

Extreme DDD, it's pretty common on the newer dimes. Not a DDO, but I can see why you'd ask.

Sorry Jim, but it's very extreme Die Deterioration Doubling from the dies being worn out. Not a DDO, but it's a very good example of heavy Die Deterioration. I would keep it since it's a very good example of it.

Die Deterioration flows towards the closest rim on the field area. Se see a lot of dimes like your here lately.

I would not have expected to see such separation -- and I've seen the pictures and read the explanations. But most of the DDD I see in my coins is very minor by comparison.

The image of the dime is showing looks like die scratches that are fading. They take longer when they are next to/inside of devices. In the open fields, they flatten out and go away a lot faster.




Note a polishing removed/weakened these sub, below the fields devices. As the fields go away, then the sub devices are weakened.

Here is a die scratch that is trying to look like a RPM. I wasn't until I rotated the coin did I see the die scratches above and below the protected area that made this look like a RPM.

I to have this done only I have doubles of everything very pronounced. I thought it was called mint doubling so I to learned something new today #128515;#128515;

I know the principals are the same, regardless of denomination, but I might get a little confused when the discussion is about a dime, and I see examples of cents.
All good stuff, but might lead to confusion for others.
