Most of these have unreadable dates and or bad zinc rot. Anyways, I only have about a $1.50 tied up in them so I'm not worried

Put them in a roll, and take them to the bank.

Not the stinkin zinkins or bronze diseased coppers, just not smart to breed them. Damaged silver, yes, why not?

I actually do have a small bag of cents with major zinc rot. I have another coin that was mostly broken in half in a parking lot and I completed the break. So now, I have two modern half-cents. Damage possibilities and examples are educational. Many times, damage is mistaken for true Mint errors and sometimes they are sold as such. Learning about damage is a step in learning about real errors. http://goccf.com/t/281634

I keep damaged coins also. I have some that I put on tracks and let trains run over back in the 1970's. I still have them and they'll still be here in 10 years. I don't think yours will be.......take them to the bank & buy a silver dime with the proceeds.

My CU's coin counter will not accept damaged coin, and they don't accept rolled coin. Those I would toss in the garbage.

Some agricultural soils are very poor in trace elements. Two of these trace elements can be zinc and copper. It would help a farmer to add those missing trace elements to his soil, and mysteriously increase his crop yield. Load these coins into an agricultural aircraft, and drop them from at least 20,000 feet, to ensure widest coverage. The cost to you would only be $1.50 !

I sold this one on ebay... I never even noticed I got the date wrong on the title until after I sold it! The buyer never complained...

Those cents are an embarrassment to me as a US citizen!

I toss all of mine in a bag. Too embarrassed to return them to the bank. I'll look them over some day and toss a bunch out. I figure its part of the cost of CRH.

Put them in a roll, and take them to the bank. I think I'd rather just spread them out over 50 or so rolls... nothing like doing some CRH and running into a full roll of that crap.

I took a coin out of the garbage disposal last week that would have qualified for this page. I THINK it was a penny. Not sure.

So funny that this topic came up at the time it did... in my Monday coins, I got a couple of CWR of nickels all of which had "road rash." Rather than put them all back in their original rolls, I spread them out as replacements for the keepers I found in the other rolls I went through.
