Anyone else notice the concentric markings? If this wasn't a hundred and forty-two years old, we'd be saying scratches from counting/wrapping fingers. However, I don't think this is the case here. So instead of scratches, are these lines raised, making them circular die cracks? If they are scratches, what would cause them?

No, these are die cracks, as they appear raised. They look different from incuse lines.
