I have a 1969 s proof set and it looks like it's full of repunched "S". Have you ever seen this before. Here is the Lincoln and Jefferson but the other 3 are just like it. I think I'm losing my mind and seeing things. Please help sort me out. Thanks

Your pix are really hard to tell much. But I always say since proof coins are struck twicwe, there's two times the chance for MD which is what it is on the cent. Can't tell much on Jeff but probably the same. It is also VERY RARE to have both a DDO and an RPM on the same coin, especially when the Direction of Movement is the same on all devices. It shows upa bit differently on the MM since it is actually HIHGHER in relief than the other devices and catches first on any die movement/bounce.

I didn't realize the pics were that out of focus. I see your complaint I will take better pics and try again. But they were still better than Piss-Pour, I've taken some pretty bad pics in my life I can show you it can always be worse. But thank you for the great feedback you always shoot us straight.

If mint mark shows the same on all, possible the mint mark punch was damaged? Thanks, Doug.

Its probably a damaged mintmark punch. It would explain why it looks like a RPM and how all of the coins have it.

I agree. The same mint mark punch was used for all denominations when they were adding it to the dies. It just kept getting worse until they replaced it. Not a RPM, just punch damage:

So when you see this on several different dies, then know it is a damaged mint mark punch issue.
