Where to start...as the subject suggests, I am at a point, where I need to do something with the 274 rolls of uncirculated Presidential dollars and hope you all can offer some suggestions. I started collecting these coins in 2007 and ALL were acquired at the $25 Face Value. I have seven (7) Presidential dollar Frames/Books (Requires 40 coins P or D)and one (1) Collector Album (Requires 80 coins 40-P & 40-D). As they stopped circulating a few years ago, I am "Solid" through the 20th President, so, that would be a whopping $160.00....what to do with the balance? I will definitely search for known errors, but is it worth eBaying them? After all of the fees, is it worth our time?

I will add a pic, once I figure out how....I'm new and using a laptop that doesn't belong to me....

Dave~!!

With the thousands and thousands of bags sitting in vaults of these, I
don't see a market for them in the future so maybe hold on to them until
you need the cash for something. I do not see a profit with ebay fees
and the cost of shipping.

Or cash them in for face value and purchase some other type coin you like.

to CCF!

I must agree with Debrajc. You're not likely to turn much of a profit on these guys with ebay and PayPal fees. Keep the ones you want for your frames/albums and dump the rest. When you get enough posts here on CCF you could try to sell them here.

That said, I'm not an expert on Presidential dollar errors. Some of them are missing the edge lettering and are worth more but that's about all I know.

Good luck!

A few years ago I got a lot of rolls of the dollars from a dealer here in Canada.

When I brought them down for a visit, I found out that nobody was willing to give more than face value.

I know this is a collector forum, but you could put the $6850 in a 5 year CD currently at 2.65% and have $181 a year to spend on coins while still having the $6850.

Thank you all for your responses....it's as id you are all reading my mind, except kbbpll, I hadn't though about a CD, but I will definitely look into it! I appreciate the investment tip, as I am not well versed in that arena and my brother (flesh & blood) told me it was too "personal" to give me advice, so, again, THANK YOU! It is greatly appreciated!

jpsned, is right on the money! It's always a struggle, between our head and our heart (occasionally the stomach will interject...)!

T-BOP, I have to admit, I have an emptied bottle of PATRON Tequila, filled with 95% copper pennies, with a second one going into service shortly.....I've often asked myself, "WHY?!?!?!?!?"

Well, I am still formulating, exactly what I will do, but I am sure it will be a mixture of all your, respective, advice!

Less than 24 hours in, I am glad I joined this forum!!
