Not as nice as some others you find! I can't recall what they said causes those halos around the stars/devices, cleaning or retoning.?
I'd have to give it details, I'll guess AU50 tops?

Coin looks well struck with limited luster remaining on or near the devices. A little weird by star 13 where the toning just stops suddenly. Agree it looks au50.

No! It's a bogus assumption and a total myth. I'm going to write another post about this misconception with examples soon.

AU-50 here. Pleasing original toning, no problems I can see. Complete with the partial 8 in the drapery, quad shield lines, and "armpit hair" die polish lines under the eagle wings. I think this is the only variety available for this better-date coin.

Still learning how to grade these, so I'll go with my first thought at AU-53. I really like it.
