Nope. That's not a Die Break. That's just Post Strike Damage from something bending the coin. Worth face value since it's damage to the coin.

@bate, on way to distinguish damage (like your coin) from a die crack is to look at the linear defect and determine whether it is above the surface of the coin or below. Then, consider how coins are minted. For Lincoln cents (and most other US coins), the dies have the design elements incuse (below the surface). That way, when a flan is squished in between them, the metal flows into these crevices. When the die is cracked, the metal will also flow into the cracks, thus producing an elevated feature on the coin. Make sense?

Another words - a scratch is into (below) the coins surface. A die crack is raised above the surface.

Would be nice to take pictures that aren't cocked out of whack! Even so - they don't line up perfectly to be any kind of mint error! OK! A die break would also be raised! Sometimes - ARGH!! And whatever website you were reading , stop!!

When the mark is incuse on the coin, then it is damage. If it is raised it could be a die crack, die chip or die break. This is raised. A die is a negative of a coin. So how could this happen on a coin? The die chip would be chipped away on the die. When the coin is struck the chip will be raised. If there was a mark made into the coin, that would be an incuse mark. How could the die create that? It couldn't. If something was in the way called a struck through it would leave an incuse mark. But on your coin, it was just damaged. The bent coin tells it was damaged probably intentionally.

You're on the right track now. But I think that's a crack rather than a break.
