Yup. I'll carve out a place. Going to have to get a new page for my CAPS album with all these special issues.
For 2018 it's bullion, W-proof, burnished, and S-proof? So 4 this year?

We will probably see the idiot TPG (p), (w), and (s), too. I kinda bah humbug those, but I traded for a 2015 (p) NGC recently, so now I'm kinda committed.

Was hoping for a mintage limit to make this a bit more exclusive.

Wasn't there a big fiasco about how the mint messed up labeling some of the monster boxes so you can't be sure the TPG labels are accurate when it comes to mint facility?

I am only interested in the different varieties of ASE's that the Mint produces and have zero interest in differences that are commercially created. Why not a bullion ASE minted in West Point (W) on a Wednesday (WW) in the morning (2018 WWAM). I'm sure that label is in process.... ..and, back on topic, I agree..a mintage limit would have added some spice to this issue

A mintage restriction would be OK with me to but a purchase restriction should also go along with it too. I was shut out of ordering last year's "S" minted coin from the mint as speculators had gobbled them up before I was able to get off work and try to order mine. First ASE I unable to purchase from the mint in 20 years.

It's good these are in the regular OGP. Having the 2017-S Proof ASE in the congratulations packaging is kind of a bummer when all the rest of my proofs are in the same regular OGP or OGP sets. I think this coin will solidify demand for the 2017-S Proof ASE. Perhaps the lack of household and mintage limits will keep the mintage low. I know that I'll only buy one, but I'd buy multiples if I thought that it was going to be a winner like the 2017-S Proof ASE.

Won't this be the same coin that will be in the Limited Edition Silver Proof set to be released later this year? With no limits on this, I don't see any compelling reason to buy from the mint.

I also believe that it'll be the same ASE that's in the LESPS. However, I'll avoid the LESPS this year and just pick up the Proof-S ASE.

But remember in 2017 the only way to get the silver San Francisco proof ASE was the congratulations set (50,000 mintage) or the Limited edition proof set (75,000 mintage) so the release was pretty small at 125,000. The 2018 San Francisco proof is showing on the mint site as having no mintage limit, and no household ordering limit, so unless they impose these prior to actual release it seems to me it will just be another relatively high mintage ASE.

The mint wasn't happy that they were commanding such premiums so they attempted to destroy the aftermarket saying they had some big announcement about it. When they finally made their announcement it was a big nothing burger where all it said was that the philly boxes for 2015 were all hand written tracking numbers and not the computer generated ones which we already knew

Right, which is why I won't be buying the overpriced 2018 LESPS. At least the 2017 LESPS had a kicker to make up for that expensive packaging.

i keep checking to see if a mintage limit or purchase limit has been applied to it, but nothing yet.
