Could you take a shot of the Columbus side from the same angle as the dated side?

Thanks for the new pic. I lean toward 62.

Hair looks worn over the ear? 60 is my uneducated guess.

Seems to have lost luster on the high points of the design - cheek, ends of hair (obv.) I cannot see any reason for this, other than minor wear.
The reverse does not seen to show any wear at all. There could be a couple of reasons for this, but those reasons cannot amount to any more than speculation. My speculation? It has been sitting in the bottom of a drawer and has rubbed a bit on obverse side only.
AU58.

This is alas a common date coin - often selling for small premiums above melt value.
As a dedicated collector of this series I have some regret about the lack of enthusiasm towards collecting them - but that is a different post indeed.
To the OP coin ... AU55 to MS63 range - your photos are not able to differentiate for me ... although my best guess is AU58.
It's a $10 coin today - and I'm hopeful that it might inspire your further interest in the classic commemorative series.

MS63 or MS62 either is close enough for me. First picture made it look MS65

I'm wondering if there could be a conditional variation from obv to rev due to the way many of these coins were displayed. The reverse was protected by the insert and the obverse was subject to abrasion.

I'm at AU58. The angles of the photos might be casting shadows but it looks like wear on the high points.

The TPG'er had had the advantage of hand held and examining with a 10X loupe. From the all pictures I see on the screen, I still grade it at AU58. Agreed: 63? Yes, but reverse only.
