Just acquired this beauty and it is on its way to PCGS for grading. One of the most beautiful designs in American Coinage. Edited by vambuyer 05/22/2017 7:52 pm

Beautiful! Very smart move making a registry set on the series too. Can't think of a better series to do that with. My favorite commemorative half. I only own 1.

Very nice from what I can see and agree, it's a stunning design. Which set is yours btw?

How about some close-ups of both sides and links to your registry set?

Here is the obv and rev pics, currently I have 6 in for grading, I've gotten 2 back 1939 MS 67 and one 1926-S MS 66 as soon as I get them all back I'll have enough to post and start the registry.

A long term goal would be a set of these, fantastic design, common and rare issues.

This one came back yesterday as MS 67 this year only (1939) 3004 coins were minted. Tough year to find in all mint marks.

Indeed ... to the CCF and sharing your Oregon Trail series challenge. Lovely coins you have show us so far ... I'm extending my best of wishes to complete the entire 14-coin 'mini series' in fine order. Fully concur that this Fraser/Fraser designed coin is amongst the most inspired design in the entire classic silver commemorative series ... and IMHO the only multi coin issue of that series worthy of pursuit. Your post allowed me to reflect on my initial attempt to also acquire the Oregon Trail series in honest PCGS grades ... I have 6 of them ... all PCGS MS66/67/CAC ... and last added to the set in early 2013. Suppose I might have lost interest ... distracted perhaps by other bright shiny objects ... but know that I'll be cheering your attempt to complete the set in fine order. David

How is this set coming along? This is in my honest opinion the most attractive commemorative of all time-- I would love a set of these!
