Your wife will have to learn that you are NOT spending the money but actually saving it in another form. Actually coins is one of the greatest ways in the world to save money. Your money is NOT gone but has been transferred to a better possibility. A normal dollar will never gain you a red cent and putting it into a savings account will return you very limited returns while the bank makes a killing by combining all their holdings, which is NOT really theirs, into worthwhile investments and many of those investments will be in silver and gold! They reap the rewards and you reap, well, basically nothing but a tax statement at the end of the year on those meager returns. Coin collectors skip the middle man so to speak and make their investments or build their own holdings in an effort to reap ALL the profits without the middleman. Like it or not, every other area where you can put your money, someone you don't even know is making by far more than you are? Many women, and men as well, look at money as something to spend.....period! And, until you can convince them of the possibilities available, or even better, show them an example of this potential they will never understand! My own son's wife hasn't a clue and thinks we are all nuts but when he sold off an extra 1999 silver proof set a few weeks ago it really opened her eyes. The key is to enjoy what you are doing and accept the fact every time you purchase a coin it is for LONG TERM just like putting money into a retirement fund or 401K. The only difference is the fact that, should any specific item explode into a great return, you can sell, take the profit and re-invest the initial amount in other coins and enjoy a little profit. Once you lock your money into other accounts you basically give up control and this is ONE aspect of my life, coin collecting, where I am the CEO and after years of collecting I like having the responsibility of making decisions and actually making money on my own. I buy coins for my permanent collection but also speculate with other coins, gold and silver. The money is NOT gone by any means and with the worlds market on fire at this time it is probably one of the safest places there is as an investment or savings. Just take your time, watch the coin market and buy very wisely. Knowledge is the KEY!!!

To be honest I'm not such a big fan of "different" shapes but I liked the eagle.
It's funny though that I had exactly the reverse of what you have. It could be better for me if the auctioneer sold them as a set.

I was almost buying a coin from the flower set too (they are elliptical) but the competition in the bid was strong:|

I wasn't very pleased with these coins.
I noticed a great mistake on the Universiade coins: It says "23th"

and the uncirculated sets have slight fingerprints (and they are in closed package)
They told they weren't happy with the company they send the coins to be packaged.

Just bought:
1943 P War Nickel, UNC, appears 4-5 steps, will post pics later tonight (hopefully) for $2.
MS63-65 70D, 78S Cameo, 72S, 77S Cameo, 76S x2,76S Silver, 80S Cameo, 71S of the Kennedy half dollars for $21.
UNC Franklin Set for $335.
And a dime that I am unsure of 16d or 18D, will post pics later as well, for $0.70 out of a scarp silver pile. The person I bought it from, his first guess on looking at it before he knew it was a D, was a 16. So I am hoping for the best.

Also buying a higher grade Washington Silver Quarters tonight for $375... the 32D and S are vg-f, Everything else is xf-au.

Its still a long road lim. This is just my 3rd order. I have to wait till they have a good number of nice UNC/PF and order many at one time to save on s/h. And I was waiting for the Maccas before ordering. I find nice proofs are easy to come by but the UNC are very difficult.
