Hi everyone, I'm new to here and collecting coins in general but recently I was puttin up a Seated Liberty dime on ebay and noticed in the pic I had there was doubling on the Legend Obverse. I have a pic but not that nice of one til my camera charges.lol.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT OR GIVE ME ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO DO FROM HERE?
Who would I contact on a new discovery?(If thats what it is)

You can clearly see that almost every letter has a slight to major doubling.

I think I see what you're talking about in the pics. I'm seeing some outlining around letters, but I don't think it's doubling from a double-hubbed die. It looks to me there was a shoulder on the die tools used to create the legend, and then was impressed deep enough to leave a faint outline. It's very common on Indian Head cents, and may also be what's happening here. A true double-hubbed die would show doubling of the serifs and most likely a clear directional offset--not an outline such as inside the O in "OF". Those are some general observations--and there are experts here who can give you better detail.

you'll find this is a great place to get info from other collectors.

Looks like Longacre style doubling to me. Hub doubling only doubles the letters in one direction.

Welcome!

Longacre doubling does not add any value to the coin.

Thanks,
Bill
