I have had this coin in my unknown pile for years now. I know what the coin is, I just don't know about the authenticity.

It is heavily toned and it has been beat up. I know that this is done to counterfeit coins to make them look real.

Weight: 26.76 g

Can anyone comment on authenticity?

Well, for starters, is the weight correct?

@ar, is it safe to assume that it isn't attracted to a magnet?

I added the weight. Weight is listed as 26.7 g, mine is 26.76.

It is not attracted to a magnet.

While far from scientific, it does have that silver ring to it when I give it a flip.

Edge looks wrong. Patina looks way too generic to a lot of the modern fakes that I have seen. I vote not genuine. This is my example

If I recall correctly, coins from this province are actually slightly underweight and were not struck to technical weight.

To me it looks more like one of the genuine of 25 different specimens.
It may not be fair to compare it directly to another photo which is not likely to be the very same type.
Is it 39.25mm by 2.5mm and weigh close to 26.8 grams?
Keeping in mind allowing for small error.
I don't readily see anything that screams fake just looking at it.
If it was my coin, first thing I would do is determine if it is good silver with my various tests & measures before it went to the junk pile.
I have genuine coins from people presuming they were fakes.
No doubt many fakes are out there, I think it's worth a closer look.

My vote is it's most likely authentic. The weight is correct, it doesn't look cast, has a reasonable amount of wear, the edge looks OK and the patina doesn't look fake to me.
