I'm buying that the third digit in the date is a 7, but I can't see enough remaining detail to speculate on the fourth digit:

Back when dinosaurs roamed, I wanted to buy my first car. The salesman bragged about how nice it was and how it was a real steal. My dad leaned over and whispered, "Son, I think it's mostly a Chevy." In that spirit, I think this poor dead critter was mostly an Indian cent.

I think it's either 1876 or 1878 but it really doesn't matter. Not even worth a buck. I wonder what happened to this poor critter.
