yeah just seemed wierd no blackish tint and looks more like an aged clad and weights are off.

Weights would likely be low because of wear.

yeah I'm going to have to take them in to someone that has that laser to identify metals, has the clad bong thump sound also no ting..

BTW stop with the clad garbage - nickels are solid alloy. Never have been clad.

Thank you BS.  99 point something % of the time when you find a coin that appears to be the wrong color, it is either environmental damage or toning. The other 1% is because it is a Coin type a collector is unfamiliar with.

I've often thought we should conduct a controlled experiment - with a couple of rolls of new coins and the contents of a soda machine...
Soak a selection of coins in a thin layer of each different kind of soda. After a few days or a week, rinse and let dry.
Then we would know that that grey-green color is characteristic of spilled Mountain Dew in the cupholder.
And the orange is Fanta, etc.
