So found some oldies roll hunting notice they where not a normal silver war nickle, they weight is off and color is no where near of what it should be for age. Like some thoughts please have a vid but that does no good atm here .

yeah just seemed wierd no blackish tint and looks more like an aged clad and weights are off.

yeah I'm going to have to take them in to someone that has that laser to identify metals, has the clad bong thump sound also no ting..

The color looks correct. They are silver War Nickels.

BTW stop with the clad garbage - nickels are solid alloy. Never have been clad.

99 point something % of the time when you find a coin that appears to be the wrong color, it is either environmental damage or toning.

The other 1% is because it is a Coin type a collector is unfamiliar with.

I've often thought we should conduct a controlled experiment - with a couple of rolls of new coins and the contents of a soda machine...

Soak a selection of coins in a thin layer of each different kind of soda. After a few days or a week, rinse and let dry.

Then we would know that that grey-green color is characteristic of spilled Mountain Dew in the cupholder.

And the orange is Fanta, etc.
