The account is fresh, the bidders are all the same person. That tells me what I need to know.

Classic case of "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is" I don't even know where to start. The "never before seen" lot of crap that every coin dealer has too much of, the artwork that supposedly worth $400k. This is too much!

"Estate" sales are one of the reasons why I loathe searching for coins on ebay. Same thing goes for those listings with tons of coins in the picture but you only get 10-20 coins in actuality, mostly junk Wheaties and one or two Mercury dimes, if you're lucky.

Quote: the bidders are all the same person. Quote: The leading bidder looks like a shill. Maybe I'm naïve, but what is the evidence for these claims?

One of the most craziest listings I've ever seen on e-bay . To bad there were bidders after the 99¢ start and stayed that way to the end of the bid . That would have shut that seller up once and for all .

But look at all you get ..... an old baby pic, someone's OBGYN residency certificate, and a Liza Minnelli Albumn.

Clever way to market this lot. There is some value there. Maybe not 12K worth. We need an art expert to value the paintings.

Unfortunately these types of listings have been around since ebay has.

Observations -
The high bidder at the moment has a feedback number of 23.345. Seller's corresponding number is 0.
I see a lot of $1 silver certificates; I don't see $1,700 face value in old U.S. currency. I see a lot of coins; whether there's over 100K of them seems problematic. I see rings set on Cartier boxes; whether the rings are the real deal, who knows, no closeup shots to judge them by.
If there's indeed 80 pounds of 90% U.S. silver coinage, that'd alone work out to something like $18K as bullion, so I can see the calculation as to risk at the current level of the bidding.
Colligo ergo sum

To tell you the truth I would love to go through all that stuff at my leisure . But would not spend that kind of money to do so .
