Although my main collecting focus has not really been on Seated coinage, over the years I have added a few representative examples which appealed to me.

This is my current small collection of Seated quarters.

As a long-time collector of this series, I can appreciate the quality and scarcity of these coins. Thew '57-S and '72-CC certainly stand out. Congratulations for sure.

Thank you!

I would like to ask your opinion about the 1872-CC. This coin is ex. Stacks Auction around 1990. My question is about the word LIBERTY on the shield. It appears to be very weak and/or slightly damaged. Do you think that it has been manipulated in any way? or is it weak, as struck?

The 1857-S was actually part of the Norweb collection ex 1988 auction, so it has a bit of an interesting provenance.

Looks OK to me, might just make F12 in my opinion.

Great collection!

Now that you mention it, the BER in the '72-CC does look like it might possibly have been enhanced, but not obviously so in this pic.

A coin of this value deserves a TPG holder, so I would just get it over with.

You are right, Coinfrog, I really have to overcome my reticence to get some of my coins encapsulated! (more for my family than for myself).

(They are in Munich, not too far from us, so I may make a nice week's vacation out of it - my wife would love that).
