Had an early Christmas with one side of the family from out of town. My dad bought me 2 rolls of Kennedy halves. One is the government issued 2002-P and the other was a bank roll with tails facing out on both sides. Opened the bank roll hoping to at least find one 40% Kennedy and the entire bank roll was 1964s. Best part is...my dad paid face for it...$10. He had a big laugh about that Christmas surprise. Edited by ElonU 12/23/2019 1:19 pm

Nice, $125 worth of silver coin for face value!
It appears that he stumbled upon part of a collection dump that the bank received from a courier that supplies the rolls. If at all possible, ask him to get back there ASAP. If it were me, I'd buy out their entire stock, there are probably more solid rolls waiting!

Nice! I've found that banks are all too happy to rid their vaults of halve dollars, not to mention dollar coins. So I would have to agree with fistfulladirt on how your father stumbled upon them.

Has it occurred to you that your father may have deliberately "salted" the entire roll? An intentional roll of silver as a present?

Oriole, The answer is yes I've thought of that.
If it was, who cares? The likelihood of it being a ruse is extremely low. If it was, my dad obviously knows what I like. Either way I gave him a big hug and thank you for a very thoughtful gift.
Also, shame on you for attempting to ruin some Christmas magic (rolls eyes).

Also...my pops did go back to the place today and grabbed what they had left of Kennedy halves. I'll be visiting him in a few weeks so hopefully I'll have something fun to post.

Remember the thrill of palming them and seeing all silver. What a wonderful gift. A memory you'll have the rest of your life.

Hi Christie, First welcome. If you're not new you should know the importance of putting your own coin in it's own thread, not tacked on to someone else's. To address your coin... What makes you think it's a dime on a Quarter's planchet? I believe they are made of the same material. I have been trying to see any feature's of Washington as you mentioned and straining my eyes or imagination I don't see it (maybe it's just me). Can you show us (in your own thread) the edges of this coin? And knowing the weight would be helpful too. It's not a common occurrence, so we'd to interested in knowing more. Again, welcome!
