I've got a 1971 D penny that's magnetic it weighs 3.1 grams and I have been trying to find someone who could tell me something about this coin other than its fake it does not appear fake to me I scratch the back of it and it is not plated I wish I could send a picture of it I have one I just don't know how to upload one

And please preview your post/pictures to be sure the images are rotated correctly.

Pictures will be necessary, but virtually the only thing it can be is plated. Be careful about scratching any coin you think may have value as it will reduce it.

It can't be a steel cent. They haven't used steel cents at the mint since 1943. They weight 2.7 grams. Copper planchets weigh 3.11 grams. So a plated cent could be sightly attracted to a magnet, but not like a steel cent that leaps towards a magnet. Test with a steel cent, or a steel washer. Then you will see that it is not a steel cent. Seeing this test is most convincing.
