I rarely complain, however the price of modern coins on the TV show "The Coin Vault" is absolutely ridiculous. They show a scrap piece of paper with a grossly over inflated price and baseline that as the current "value", then up-charge their stuff a good 30%+ from real competitors. Something needs done as they are taking full advantage of non educated buyers. Difference in Capitalism and Price gouging.

It is very expensive to buy time on broadcast/cable/satellite TV. Their target market are those that are confined at home with little life other than a TV and nothing else to do. There is no shortage of that target market right now.
Easiest solution is to not buy from them or even watch the show.

Of the coin shows on TV,I watch and trust them the most. Everyone who buys a coin from any TV show needs to know the current retail price before buying. John1

Thursday night they were pushing twenty vg, maybe one or two fine on a good day, Barber halves and twenty 1964 Kennedy's as brilliant uncirculated. In reality the latter looked as though they had been in a sand storm with all those marks. And the "deal of the day" price? $459.99. What a bargain!

Something has to pay for the host's $250 haircuts and $250,000 cars...
Why should it be YOUR coin budget...

With my Red Book in hand I view it not as a "shopping network" but more so as a sitcom... Then try to price their coins to the nearest dollar

It is just a normal TV practice to sell STUFF. Why not watch the HSN on TV for a great laugh? There is that tall, fat guy that has no idea of anything selling anything, anyone will buy. Ever go to a used car lot? IF you do you'll see and hear almost the exact same type of pitch. I suspect that most people on TV selling anything were at one time used car salespeople. I actually like some of those nutty TV adds. I really like all the ones that come out with a new weight loss machine or device. So as to selling coins, why not try almost anything? And I really love those statements about how rare a coin or coins are and to prove it they show you a page copied from ebay. It's all in fun so just enjoy them and feel sorry for those that fell for it.

Coin Vault is one of the ones I actually like. They are a bit pricey, but not outrageous. They present the stuff honestly and I have purchased from them before. If they have something I want that I havent found elsewhere, the extra money is, to me, simply a finders fee. I would also buy from Tomaska's show.
And please, save the indignity and something must be done rigamarole. If you dont like it, dont watch or buy from them. Like I dont watch nor would I EVER buy from that moron "Chopper". I mean, clearly, I watched him once, but that was all I needed. LOL

There are prices that make no sense on ebay, Amazon and almost every place else. You don't like it don't buy it. Early this year I went to go see Wicked with my wife in NYC. We wanted good seats, the best seats we found was on Broadway.com and they charged an exorbitant service fee, with great seats. So we made a decision to pay more for a better seat than a lower price. Was I ripped off, I don't feel because it was what I wanted at a price that I thought while high was fair, so I paid for the high service charge. Sometimes people buy expensive coins because of the presentation.

Best thing you can do to combat crappy shows like this one? Turn the tv off.

I suspect people who buy on such programmes believe everything they're told on TV is true, much as they believe everything that Donald Duck says is true or that everything they read in the paper is true.
