I received this coin from my mother in-law. It looks exactly like a Morgan dollar but is the size of a 50 cent piece. I assume it is some sort of replica. Has anyone see one of these before? Thanks for your help.

It might be a silver fractional bullion coin. It would have a marking on the edge. What's the edge look like?

Maybe it was left in someones pocket and they washed their jeans in hot water causing it to shrink....
Super cool looking "coin"...

Looks like a silver bullion piece. Any markings showing silver content?

Thanks everyone for the comments. I like the idea that is shrunk in someone's pocket. It weighs 15.6 grams, so heavier than a 50 cent piece. It looks identical to a Morgan dollar except for the size. The mint mark on the back doesn't look quite right and the eagle on the back is the same direction as the face on the front, not reversed like an actual Morgan dollar.
