BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 07/25/2020 11:18 am I question the coin's authenticity from the word go. At a glance it looks counterfeit. The reverse lettering does not appear as genuine. Look at the E in UNITED as one of many examples of misshapen letters. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. How did you acquire the piece? Earle42 Bedrock of the Community United States 10038 Posts	Posted 07/25/2020 11:45 am For just one conflicting point that is easy to see, compare the much larger inside loops of the 8 in the pic below (of a certified 1851 P gold dollar) to the smaller loops on the coin you posted. Here is your photo straighten out to compare to genuine coin. When you shoot your photos, it is best to take the coin out of the flip holder to reduce glare and distortion.
