Now normally I'd be the type of person to tell you no never buy a coin with any form of issues if it's remotely possible to avoid. This time, I kinda broke my own rule. If you've ever tried to find a toned SLQ, you haven't. They are so stupidly difficult to find I thought about throwing in the towel and buying a lusterbomb blast white. The few toned examples I could find sold for $1k+ which I just wasn't willing to drop. Then this little lady crossed the auction block and I snagged her tonight for what was in my opinion egregiously underpriced. Even with a few minor black spots on the obverse this coin is a killer. What do you think PCGS gave her?

That's a beaut! Honestly, I don't find the spots distracting, typically I would.

MS64FH? No doubt that head is fully struck. Only the tiny carbon spots and few leg tics hold it back from a 65 grade IMO. Nice and you are right finding nicely toned Standing Liberty quarters is tougher than it would seem. Blast white all day long, light golden toned sometimes, but almost never nice colored toned ones that aren't almost black or dark purple.

Wow, that's fantastic toning for a SLQ. I'd say MS-66FH. Hope those spots don't get worse with time.

Quote: Hope those spots don't get worse with time. That was something I was considering addressing in the future. I've never tried conserving carbon spots like this and given the coin wouldn't want to do anything rash. I don't mind cracking it for the sake of the coin.

This coin is gorgeous. Judging from your label of this coin as a "problem coin" is it MS Details?

The toning is attractive IMO. The spots would be distracting but it's a beautiful coin no doubt.

FUll luster both sides. decent strike. I think the toning if anything would only add about 1/2pt to the grade for eye appeal but the chicken pox may offset that. hard to tell what goes on under toning but looks like its pretty clean. I think its better than 65 but not a 67. MS66FH
