I'm at VF-35. Nice problem free example.

Couldn't say if it's authentic, but I'll say it just makes EF-40.

I'd say VF-35, problem-free. I don't see any problems with authenticity. Looks like a VAM-5A with die breaks at the ONE on the reverse.

I'd call it XF40. Also it's VAM 5A.

Very Choice VF-35, though this'd be an NGC EF-40

Just a dumb question. Why would a "reputable" company sell such a high dollar piece raw? I would be very suspicious there is something up with the coin why it won't straight grade. If you really like the coin and the company, then I'd request the company send the coin into PCGS to get slabbed and you'll pay the grading fee if it comes back in a good holder.

I do it all the time , there are lots of people who like raw circulated coins .
If you have an excellent reputation with return privileges , as many of us do
there are no issues .

I've sold easily half a dozen raw S-VDBs for full market. Done the same with a 16-D Merc and a 1916 SLQ. People really dont mind as much as you think.

What grade is the seller calling it? This key date has large price fluctuations from VF20 to VF35 (doubles) then jumps another 25% at XF40.
