Are those scratches above the "O" in DOLLAR on the reverse? If yes, I go with AU53.

I'll say AU-58+. I really don't see any wear here.

The reverse toning/gunk in the devises takes away eye appeal for me...looks like it should have been conserved... Too many dings and a light scratch on the obverse along with a couple rim hits on the reverse puts her at AU55. It's probably not fair to beat up such a small gold coin...but these close-up pics allow you to be critical. She's still a beautiful coin! smat

Slight wear on the high points, both sides. The 10% copper in the alloy has allowed the coin to tone over it's life of 170 years to an antique appearance. I have seen the same thing with British gold coins 150+ years old. The result is that the remaining luster is almost completely hidden. AU-55.

PCGS graded this one MS61. Most people here thought it was AU. I've posted this coin earlier in another thread with some in hand photos and there it got a little more MS feedback from the forum.
I know little about grading goldcoins so I didn't know if it would get an AU or MS grade when sending it in. My thought now is that the rim hits knocked it down from a 62.
