Hi there here's a penny I found at an estate sale. I wanted to know any opinions about what I believe to be an error on the rim as well as a raised piece. Sorry, as I do not know the terminology of coin errors yet.

Photos are a tad washed out--perhaps due to the lighting source and a longer vs. shorter expose. So, detail is a bit hard to distinguish. Having said all that, it appears the coin is very well-worn--lots or circulation wear and dings. It appears the rim took a hard hit. Copper, being a relatively soft metal, reacts poorly to hits and can deform and leave 'bent over' artifacts like the one you see. Not an error.

I'm guessing a rim hit as well.

Weight? Can't tell if is under weight or over circulated from the images provided.

I can agree on the rim hit but I'm not sure if a rim hit would cause a raised piece away from the rim, located on the bottom left of the penny. I have not weighed the penny so I'm not sure of the weight. I can look around to see if I have a gram scale. As far as the picture quality I wasn't able to upload a high quality because of the Image size, I'm also not sure if I'm allowed to post an Imgur link or something similar for better quality.

Most of the postal scales, have the option for grams on them. Probably on the function key.

Looks like up to 3 separate rim hits to me.

The rim as affected with a glancing cut, that altered the rim. Just a Wheat cent with slight damage.
