2015-Lincoln-Cent-Dramatic-Die-Crack

Any ideas on possible value? Crack goes all the way through the coin, right through Lincoln's face.

Do you think you can take some better photos? I'm not convinced it isn't a scratch.

@tim, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please remove this cent from the 2x2 and take a nice close-up image of this linear region? I can't tell for sure on your piece whether this is a die crack or scratch.

Based off the picture, I'm going with a die crack....nice find...wondering if the reverse is as nice as the obv.......As far as value (to me) at least a penny.. Now ebay, who knows maybe 6 to 8 bucks..

to CCF...good luck on future finds, have fun...

I can't tell either way. Looks like a scratched that has piled up metal along side it - BUT - a scratch that deep to push metal would show the silver zinc which this doesn't. A more clear picture (S) sure would help.

Welcome Tim4186!!
I'm leaning more toward a scratch on this one. If you zoom in on the picture at the rim and look closely between IN you can see where metal has been displaced and pulled inwards. I believe this would rule out a die crack.

I'm leaning towards a DC on this one. Reflections in the texture and the curve shape seem like a crack. Cool if it is.

funny how it does not seem to involve the rim at either end. I anomaly starts and ends right at the rim.

Edit: If someone were the intentionally scratch it that deeply, it would take a lot of careful control to stop before hitting the rim at the end without changing the depth or amount of pressure used to create the scratch
