I think it's fake. Looks too good to be true.

@westernsky , that's what I was leaning towards too. " Too good to be true". Can't figure out how, there's no machine damage on the edges or scapes, looks like just material. Maybe someone has seen a similar attempt to clip a coin? Any help or examples will help thank you.

It looks real to me. The third pic shows a tapered rim over the T in TRUST and the Blakesley Effect is visible on the reverse rim opposite the clip. Definitely a keeper for me.

Unsure about authenticity. Clip looks to have a ragged edge under 'OF AMERICA'. Could be glare on the photos, but I'm not seeing the Blakesley Effect. Hope others weigh-in.

Have you tried putting a cent into the clipped area. If the opening is too large, then it is fake. Let me know, so I can use the images for a faked mint error.

The lines on the rim looks like what they used to hold the coin with to cut it on the Blakesley area?

The details seems to be to "sharp" at the clip and the taper on the rim by the "T" looks more like a dent. I'm on the fake side. If somebody can duplicate such a nice clip then they can duplicate the Blakesley Effect also..
