Ok I looked on the internet for this coin. It appears to have a proof finish, but it has a Denver mintmark. I'm confused as the coin has surface scraches so it was in circulation, but I could not find a 'proof' 2018 Roosevelt dime with a D mintmark. Look aT THE PICS and let me know your thoughts. Regards

I am basically a greenie, so not to discourage you. But my husband and I have found some very convincing dimes in the newest dates. These 2000s dimes are really just good already. The color is interesting, curious under what lighting the pics were taken?

Your dime is a business strike for sure. Not a proof. Having said that I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about the dunes that have been produced over the last 5 years. We have seen dimes out of the Denver and Philadelphia mints that are almost proof like with some cameo. Fresh dies and early production pieces are very nice.

Well it is not a proof coin. The strikes are different. I've seen example of the same look that had a die issue, that in the rolls the same look appeared from the same dies and strikes just like a proof, but were not. But that was how I was able to spot them so quickly. Perhaps a better batch of planchets, or better set of dies. Just never figured that one out. It was in rolls of 2006-D cents:

Note how shiny this was, even thought it was a business strike coin:

They just stood out in a roll. So what was it? I don't know. But like you coin, it catches your eye.

Here is a side by side of the business strike compared to a proof:

Not a proof, but certainly a good day at the Denver mint.

I agree with all of the above, not a proof, just a nice business strike dime.
