Hey everyone,

First of all, thank you to whomever takes the time to respond.
This is the first coin I've purchased. I'm hoping someone can take a look at these photos and let me know what they think the grade is? Also, if you have any feedback for the photos let me know. I tried to get different angles with slightly different lighting, but it was more difficult than I though. I had a dimmed smart light right overhead because full light reflected off the coin and made it harder to see details. Any suggestions for better pictures? Thank you.

In terms of pictures, these are fairly clear which is great, the lighting could be a little better. I think the best thing for coin photography is diffused light, otherwise it just reflects too strong and makes details hard to make out

I'm not great at grading morgans, from the look of the hairline I think I would put this at AU55, but best wait for a pro to chime in on that

I agree: weak hair above Lib's ear, and on eagle's breast feathers. Need to look for wear under high magnification in these areas to justify a downgrade. If luster undisturbed in these areas, then
MS-62.

Nice luster.

MS62, the very weak strike is distracting for me.

Thank you for your contributions. If I wanted to resell it, what is a reliable way to determine the value it carries?

I'm not liking this coin much. Luster is strong but strike is seriously weak and surfaces look unnatural. Date digits look thin compared with examples of the 1890 Morgan on Coinfacts. Obverse stars are weird, with a very "blobby" look.

Hate to cry counterfeit without more data. Is the weight correct, and is it attracted to a magnet?

If genuine, this coin is worth $50 at best. Negative eye appeal might make it hard to sell.

I've got one sitting on a shelf at the shop right now, in better shape, and a much better strike for $35 with no takers. It's been there a couple of months. If that helps with value
