Just won this one from a well respected seller on the bay. With that said being ungraded I hope the photos are not hiding too much and hope she can pull a AU-55 if graded
just curious your thoughts

AU-55 seems about right, looks problem-free. VAM-6?

the 89(O) typically are quite soft in strike. yours is actually a decent strike for this year. even taking that into consideration I would call this one AU53 might make 55 on a good day

It's on the high end of the AU-53/AU-55 bubble. Considering the typical New Orleans strike quality, it's a bourse floor AU-55. I fear PCGS would hold it to AU-53.

Well I hope she gets the above average eye appeal bump when I submit it.

Well she came in today , the coin is much brighter white than the sellers pics indicated . More scratches on the face and field , I still think she will straight grade AU but I am not as excited with her in hand than I was with the pics.

Perhaps the seller used Photoshop to "fix" this coin and give it a metallic look. Your photos make it look like it is a completely different coin.
Rest in Peace

Are the obverse fields as flat and life-less as your images show?

Lower AU works for me. Would be interesting from a technical aspect what the seller's camera and lighting settings were vs. those used by JasonKflo. And any post-processing differences too.

And then there's always the in-hand visual inspection.
