NGC slab. First acquisition in awhile. Incredible luster in hand. Getting bit by the 1921 anniversary bug so I'm embarking on a quest to own every Peace dollar in higher grades. This is the first. Edited by fenton 04/30/2021 6:23 pm

That's a stunner. The cheek contact mark is in an unfortunate place. Certainly 64 if not better.

Very nice eye appeal, a few nicks, but that gouge above PEACE is worrisome - May fetch a MS65 grade

Nice one! There are contact marks in the hair, rays, and field west of the eye. These are consistent with MS-64. The reverse is frosty, and has a couple contact marks on the eagle's breast and in the fields west of the eagle. The scratch on the rock may well be a staple scratch. There are some rim issues on the reverse, as well. I see the reverse as MS-63+. Give it a +0.5 eye appeal adjustment for a net MS-64.

I think a lot of us are getting bit by the 2021 bug...at least we don't have to wear a mask for that! I'm in the same boat as you. I want to get the 34-S out of the way first. I know it's gonna cost me some BIG $$$$...but with that one out of the way I think the rest will be a little more palatable. Kind of like running down hill instead of up hill? When I get it I'll be sure to post her here too! Good start on your high grade 23! I could go with MS-64 as well. Keep us posted on your journey. smat

Nobody at 66? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller? I'll hint that it's at least MS-64+

The 1921 is going to sting. I sold one an MS-64 in 2013 for about $600 and regret it. Looks like it's going to cost me at least $1000 to get it back in a comparable condition.

There will definitely be some stingers along the way...but I feel once I get that BIG one out of the way, I'll just be more particular and patient. smat

this is a decent Peace dollar. nice luster throughout. a little weak on both sides (typical) and a few tick marks. the two that stand out are below the eye and on the wing. I think the overall appearance and amount of luster may bring in at MS65
