For it to be VF, the denticle detail on the obverse should be complete and bold and the drapery across the chest should be better defined. The reverse may grade F-15 but I think the net grade is F-12 Report this Post to the Staff

When I was using the hammer on the edges, I got impatient and gave it a big whack and the holder exploded. I was lucky it did not scratch the coin. PCGS GRADE F12 Report this Post to the Staff

Put the slab in first with the sides flush with the jaws, tighten until you see/hear a crack. Then open the jaws rotate the slab and leave one side of the top half of the slab above the jaws, wrap the slab with a cloth (just in case to catch the coin) then crank the handle slowly and the top portion of the slab will pop off. I have been using a hammer for years with no problems until I got impatient. NGC's are not problem with a hammer, but the PCGS slab can be stubborn.
