Hi guys,

I have this 1979 P Susan B Anthony dollar and would like to know what is happening with the rim on the obverse bottom below the date?

I have not seen this before on my other Susan B Anthony dollars.

Possibly contact marks from circulation? There are other dings, such as the marks on SBA's collar.

That was normal that year. The one that is worth a premium was the wide rim Philly SBA dollar:
