I have collected many things over the years. Watching youtube inspired me to invest in a coin microscope, now I have more questions than answers lol. I've had this coin for years, I think it is beautifully made. I was curious to know would you deem it a candidate for grading? It has passed through many hands yet I think in good condition. I am curious to what more experienced collectors think of possible grade, value or error validation. I have included photos of things I found interesting on the coin, if you would like any additional please let me know. Thanks so much! P.s ignore time stamps..i didn't bother changing it, too excited to use lol

. A few too many photos though. Here are a few links you might like:

As a general rule, a coin need a minimum value of $150 retail after slabbing to justify all costs involved in having it graded/slabbed.

I apologize, overly eager on my first post and I confess did not review guidelines before hand. I have reviewed them now and will try to abide by the forum rules in future posts. Thanks for your quick reply!

The 96 is a common date Morgan. I would grade the coin in the AU58 range, and it does not have the value ($40 to $50) to make it worth while to submit for grading. You may want to post the coin under the VAM section as they can help you determine the VAM variety.

Agree this is a mid/high AU coin and not worth having graded.

Microscopes are fun to use on coins, and you can discover things that have been overlooked. Be careful with ascribing anything "special" to what you find though. For example, what you're presumably highlighting with the "we" and "N" images is found on every Morgan I've briefly looked at. You'll also find microscopic doubling or tripling along the edges of letters etc which is cool to see, but just an artifact of hubbing the dies more than once. Great pictures!

Thank you all for your input, it is much appreciated as it helps me learn :) I hope I wasn't implying this was "special" or rare in some way, I was just highlighting what I found interesting. As for youtube, I agree 100% I mentioned it as my inspiration for getting the microscope. Using my jewelers loop for a long period of time seemed to impair my vision for a long time, the scope is so much easier and convenient for taking pictures. Again, thank you for the replies :)

I'd call it mid AU problem free and also not worth the $$ to grade.
