Hello CCF members! I understand that valuing "damaged" or "details" coins can be more of an art than a science, as the market for them is probably a bit smaller than those of "straight grading coins," but I am wondering how you all would value this coin.

I bought this coin in 2001 knowing full well it was cleaned. I think the details are EF(40)--how much does this coin's cleaning knock it down?

XF 40 Details cleaned, I would value at $165 to $190 and a dealer would offer much less.

I think EF40 details harshly cleaned (especially the reverse) looks like someone used a pencil eraser to try and scrub off the marks and patina unfortunately. Those black stripes are likely caused from contact with a rubber band or from just sitting on top of a rubber band.

A nice EF40 coin has a retail value of $390.00 currently I'd go with half that or slightly less, so right in the same ballpark as Slider23 mentioned.

EF details (cleaned) sounds right.

This one is rough. 1810 is a relatively common date. Cleaned VERY harshly.
VF details.
