Given the photos posted, I'm thinking the coin isn't aluminum. Do you have a weight for it?

What makes you think it is aluminum?
An aluminum cent would weigh about .9g. much lighter than a regular cent.

We need the weight. An aluminum should weigh about 1g.

@rh, the silver color on the obv might be due to this coin having been rubbed with mercury as part of a science class experiment.

It is a normal 1973 cent that was discolored somehow.

In 1973 the idea had not come up yet. So it is probably a normal copper cent. (3.11 grams)

Keep rummaging through Lincoln cents, you're bound to find some that will look incredibly, painfully old.

I agree with Spence, I'd wager this coin was rubbed with mercury at one time in it's life. That would account for the effervescence involved. You have an otherwise normal cent.
