Note how it is irregular. More of an issue with DDD ( Die Deterioration Doubling) Doubled dies are not seen on this area. On the obverse it is the earlobes and motto areas that are showing the hub doubling: Note the doubled ear is raised above the fields/design area? Note how the devices are distorted?

Yikes that one sure would have fooled me! In my mind, with DDD the doubling is more typically toward the rim of the coin rather than the interior as it is on your quarter @var.

DDO-001 has both severe Die Deterioration and a doubled die. The doubled die is most clearly visible on IN GOD WE TRUST, which you did not take photos of. So I think you may be confusing the DDD with the actual doubled die. The DDD in your photos looks similar to that of DDO-001 so it could still be that die, but you didn't provide photos of where the real doubling is actually evident so it's hard to say.

No DDO. Just old wore out dies. The motto tells it all.

100% DDO-001. You've done your homework and know what you have. Nice find and nice photos

Yeah definitely DDO-001. But I want to reiterate that it seems you were not looking at the correct doubling. The rough bumps that you can see clearly in your newest photos to the left of the letters WE and ST is just Die Deterioration. The true doubled die is the extra thickness of the lettering most visible on IN, GOD, and TR. Nice find regardless!

The doubled "O" is the most apparent to me. Nice find!

You guys should have posted a link to this die listing: http://www.varietyvista.com/09e%20W...0quarter.htmWhen I saw the DDD, I gave it a thumbs down. But note the die state on V.V? Stage 'D'. I was not aware of this listing. Just noticed I'm half way there to 55K from 50K

Thanks for the responses! Definitely, one of my best finds, even if there isn't too much value behind it! Sorry about that coop, I should've posted the link with the original post instead of the variety number in the title.

Congrats Coop for over 50k posts. Unfortunately I myself don't know how to do the links. Can you please give us a full obverse and reverse of the coin Variety Hunter. I'm just curious what yours looks like. Thanks
