Has anyone ever seen this before? I believe it to be an error and not PMD. I can see a nice solid raised line through my magnifier

Nice die crack. Why does the coin look like copper?

The copper look is rising sun through a curtain. Is this a decent sized crack? I keep all my finds instead of selling them but I am curious about potential value

Nice die crack there. Die cracks come in all different shapes, sizes and lengths. Yours appears to be a tad bit wider than most that are found which normally resemble more of a hairline crack (crack meaning raised on the surface of the coin, not incuse which would tend more to lean toward PMD). As far as value... I don't believe there is much of a premium for a die crack of this nature. Extreme examples of die cracks, or even die breaks for that matter, would tend to bring a premium to the right collector. Also, I don't believe this is a mint 'error' but more of what is referred to as a die event. That area of the anvil die has a small void so to speak which caused the raised line on your coin. I'd just keep it. Good example.

What are you basing that on Kanga? It's very clearly a die crack as it is raised rather than incuse.

Very nice find PNW! This is definitely on the better side and one I'd consider a definite keeper.

Very nice die crack. It's not a scratch on either the coin or the die. it's just too wide and irregular to be a scratch.

So I'm brand new to looking on CoC and am kind of lost. I'm trying to see if my die crack is on there and am at a lost. I know its nothing major but I'm just curious as to if its been registered.1976-D-Washington-Quarter-Die-Crack
