Mint error dime that I've been unable to get much information on. It seems that this is an impossible error.it looks as if there was a dimple in the planchet before it was struck.any feed back would be great. Thank you.

to the CCF We are going to need a clear picture of both sides of the coin before anyone can help you. It could be anything from damage to an error.

If the coin is damaged, you won't find information on it. Damage is varied, not a premium for a coin. We see more damaged coins from new ones. It looked different than others. So they feel it is a mint error, but often just an altered coin, post strike. These are not mint error coins, any more than wrecked car is a factory error. But when you can post an image then we will be able see what you have.

Not a mint error unfortunately, that coin has been intentionally damaged or altered.

Whatever that is, it has been added on after the coin left the mint . It is classed as damage and adds no extra value. Still worth 10 cents though.

I wish I could put this coin in your hand to see.there is cross hatching marks on the reverse side where it wasn't struck hard and you can see the lines in the touch in the raised area in the center.
