My best guess is that this was struck through a brush bristle or something similar

@rw, with the metal smeared like that, I think that this damage rather than a strike-through.

Thanks Spence. This is from an uncirculated roll plus its similar to another one I posted not long ago. Check out the similarities. They both have the twist in the center and no damage to the devices

Thanks Dearborn. Looks eerily similar to the Salt River Bay quarter I previously posted. Possibly struck through the same type of material

In hand these may look different than what the pics are showing. But had someone posted these pic and asked, I would have said exactly what Spence did.

I put arrows pointing to lines that appear on the faces of IGWT that are direct extensions from the lines appearing above the letters.

As to the "twist," the pics make it look to me like this is possibly just one set of marks scraped over another at a different angle.

This is just what I can GUESS from the current pics. Things get too fuzzy when trying to see the minute details.

Thanks Earle42. I could be wrong but I'm mostly going off the fact that there is no metal movement where your arrows are. I'm fairly confident that they are struck through so I'll be sending them out for grading. I'll post results when they get back whether they're errors or not

Looks like damage. Note that the metal moved? I see shadow on the strongest mark. This means it is higher than the fields. If it was a struck through, the marks would be incuse. They are not. Just damage on the coin.

I'm in the die or minting anomaly camp since those lines on the field get so close to IGWT's raised lettering, and even appear a bit inside the O.

Thanks coop and Nick10. Damage to uncirculated coins is possible but not likely to be what happened here imo. More pics will probably not change opinions so at this point we'll continue to see what we're seeing whichever side you're on

I'm going to say strike through as well. The small marks you guys are seeing on IGWT are probably pieces of fiber that were struck into them. I super close up picture would close the case.

Thanks Willburton and Oldfordman. I have plenty of pics and dont mind sharing as you can tell from the number of pictures. A little pic overload but I'm not sure which is the most convincing. Thanks to all
