You obviously thought for a second you had found a 1914 D.
Not a heart attack but maybe a stroke of good luck.
Sure, it's a good find!

And I would say In pretty good shape? My uneducated guess would put it at VF20-EF30?

If this is a circulation find, then that is a major find! As to an approximate grade, VF-20 looks good to my eyes.

@sarge, it seems like you are concerned about the grade rather than asking about any potential mint errors or varieties, so I going to move your thread over to that subforum. If I'm not reading this correctly, please let me know and I can move it back. Thx.

Seems like a nice 1914-S with a good chance of restoration. Am I missing something?

Great find! Needs to be dipped in acetone or xylene for a little bit though.

Guessing Verdi-care might bring this coin up nicely.

Very cool. Suggest a leisurely acetone soak--perhaps over a couple days. Then, assess what could be attempted going forward.

Nice find . I agree that a long Acetone soak followed by an application of Verdi-Care would greatly benefit this coin .
