Today's mail brought this beautiful coin. It's a 1916 Barber dime graded by NGC as "MS-66" with the "Star" (*) designation for exceptional eye-appeal.

Barber coins have been a favorite of mine since I was a teenager. I own several mint state examples but wanted something truly special. This coin fits the bill.

My hat's off to the seller, "certifiedcitynet" on ebay, who spent $25.00 to mail the coin which was purchased with free shipping. It was about as securely packaged as a coin could be.

I've taken photos in different lighting to capture the luster and the details of this lovely coin.

Last year of the Barbers and a beautiful example. I've been obsessed with them myself over the past few years.

Early on when I was learning about coins I saw a Barber dime Proof that sticks in my head to this day as one of the more beautiful coins I've seen. I didn't have the money to buy it, but a proof or high MS Barber dime has been on my list of dream coins ever since. So you're looking at a green eyed monster here!

Congrats on the gorgeous addition to your collection!

Nice pick up and a fair price at that. What is that sticker on the slab? It wasn't on in the ebay auction photos.
